Leading causes of death in the United States - toddlers

The top three causes, Unintentional injury (accidents), Congenital Anomalies (abnormality at birth) and Assault (homicide), accounted for more than half (53.4 percent) of all deaths among toddlers (ages 1 through 4) in 2002.  Note that automobile accident is the number one cause of death in this age group, accounting for about 11%.
